One of the finest automotive publications in the World, Automobile Quarterly has been published as a hardcover automotive magazine, on a quarterly basis since 1962. Printed in a horizontal 11 inch by 8-1/2 inch format, which is the ideal format for an automobile publication. There is no advertising in these books, and each issue is lavishly illustrated with original works of art and photographs from the finest automotive artists and photographers in the World. The variouse articles and automotive histories are also submitted by some of the Worlds greatest automotive writers.
This book comes from my personal automotive library, and has been in my possession since new. Book is in very good condition, showing no shelf wear. This is the Fourth Quarter 1979 issue and consists of 118 pages with the following articles.
E & M & F…And LeRoy – by Beverly Rae Kimes. 18 page article about the E-M-F automobile in the early 1900s, with 15 full color photographs.
Of Fords And Finns – The Monte Carlo Rally And The Falcon Sprint – by George F. Merwin. 12 page article, with 15 black and white photographs, 3 color photos of Ford Falcon Sprints, and a two page color painting by Walter Gotschke.
The Story Of #471 – Bugatti’s Own Bugatti – by Nigel Arnold-Forster. 8 page article, with 7 historic black and white photos, and 6 current color photos of the car.
Scale 1/43 – A Survey For Collectors – by David Sinclair. An interesting 16 page history of the 1/43rd scale collectible diecast model car by noted collector and dealer David Sinclair. 32 full color photographs of various 1/43rd scale diecast model cars. A Chrysler Airflow diecast model by Brooklin also appears on the cover of this issue!
Sammy – by Michael Frostick. An page article about early race car driver Sammy Davis, with 10 historic black and white photos.
Changing Of The Guard – A Lincoln For The 80’s – by Stan Grayson. 8 page article, with 10 color photographs and drawings.
The Fiery Genius Of Mauro Forghieri – by Wim Oude Weernink. 10 page article about Ferrari’s Technical Director, with 20 historic black and white photographs.
Designed By Forghieri – A portfolio of 8 Ferrari full color photographs, including the 1974/75 312T, the 1969 512S Spyder, the 1970 312B1, the 1967 330P4, the 1966 206SP Dino, and the 1964 330P.
The Elusive Bucciali – by Griffith Borgeson. 14 page article, with 18 black and white photos and drawings.
